This richly illustrated book tells the story of the Batavier Line, the Netherlands’ oldest steamship line and the first ferry service to England. The boot was owned by the renowned company Nederlandsche Stoomboot Maatschappij, which was sold to Wm H. Müller & Co in 1895. This company was founded by Helene Kröller-Müller’s father and was run by her husband Anton Kröller at that time.
The author and maritime historian L.L. von Münching brings together a lot of new and previously unseen material about this important shipping line. The book concludes with a list of Wm H. Müller & Co’s entire fleet.
