Van Gogh's sketchbooks
The original sketchbooks give an intimate look into Van Gogh's way of working and show that he was an excellent draftsman in addition to being a talented painter. The sketchbooks include a rich variety of sketches
and notes, including those from Van Gogh's years in Nuenen, Antwerp and Paris, and tell more about the way the artist viewed the world. They show how Van Gogh developed during his ten-year artist career.
Limited edition made by experts
The publication contains facsimiles of the four remaining sketchbooks, the loose sketchbook drawings and two notebooks with pleasant drawings that Van Gogh made for Betsy Tersteeg, the young daughter of Hermanus Tersteeg, his then manager at art dealer Goupil & Cie. 25 renowned Dutch companies and craftsmen have been involved in order to achieve the best results.
