Paul Drissen. Short Cuts

Paul Drissen. Short Cuts is the fourth exhibition in the series With paint in the Kröller-Müller Museum. The exhibition shows more than thirty works by Paul Drissen (Oirsbeek, 1963). In paintings of casein and pigment, spatial paper collages and cuttings, he updates the abstract visual idiom of his predecessors, such as Piet Mondriaan and Kazimir Malevich. The exhibition is accompanied by this publication with text of Joanna van Asseldonk, Rudi Fuchs, Niek Hendrix and more with a design by Irma Boom en Anna Moschioni in collaboration with the artist.

In the series With paint the Kröller-Müller Museum presents the work of contemporary painters who deliberately reflect on the art-historical tradition in their work. Steven Aalders inaugurated the series in 2021-2022 with the exhibition Seasons. The first exhibition was followed by Klaas Kloosterboer, José Heerkens and Paul Drissen.
