Memory traces is an unconventional photo-book which relates to notions about landscape, culture, history and memory. The publication consists of a large format main photo-book and two smaller booklets in a printed box and weighs about 3,5 kilo. A selection of large-format landscape photographs are combined with a multi-layered range of texts which include travelogues, written photographs and a short story. One of the booklets is made of a series of family photographs found in an abandoned and looted house near to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

The photographs printed in the books were made between 1997 and 2008 in Sarajevo, Hiroshima & Nagasaki, Berlin, Bitterfeld-Wolfen, Ronneburg, Bikini Atoll, My Lai & Khe San and Chernobyl.
